Fiber To The Home, abbreviated as FTTH, refers to the installation of optical network units at home users or corporate users. It is the type of optical access network application closest to the user in the optical access series except for fiber to the desktop (FTTD). Simply put, the fiber goes directly to the home.

The advantages of FTTH are mainly three points:

1. Its bandwidth is relatively wide, the supported protocols are relatively sensitive, and the long interval fits the large-scale use of operators;

2. It is a passive network, from the central office to the user, the middle can basically be passive;

3. With the development of technology, the methods including point-to-point, 1.25G and FTTH have developed relatively perfect functions.
